Golden Stage 2024

Golden Stage, La Villette’s must-see hip-hop event, offers a selection of three international choreographic teams. An evening tackling the trends passing through the current scene, hosted by an MC and concluded by a shared moment amongst all the teams. This year, the trio Strukture, the duo Karim Khouader & Carmel Loanga, and the Dutch company The Ruggeds will put on the show.

LA STRUKTURE • Buck the World (extract)

Dancers Cyborg and Wolf are precursors of krump in France. After having choreographed several video clips they became the main dancers of Les Indes Galantes at Paris’ national Opera in 2019. Today, the duo seizes the krump vernacular in order to carve its own style. With the dancer Arrow, they offer an extract of Buck the World, their intense first piece, where movements are pushed to their paroxysm.

KARIM KHOUADER & CARMEL LOANGA • Sales Mômes 2024 Creation

Both stemming from new style hip-hop culture and partnered since 2010, Karim Khouader and Carmel Loanga have scoured the greatest dance competitions and refined a style influenced by cinema and video clips. For Golden Stage, the duo readapted their Sales Mômes creation for seven performers. A show thought out as an American video clip, carried by an ultra-dynamic soundtrack and light effects.

THE RUGGEDS • Decypher Chapter 8 (extract)

Childhood friends from the Netherlands and exceptional breakers well-versed in battles since 2005, The Ruggeds are acclaimed across the world for their dexterity. A few month before the Olympic Games where some members of the collective are competing for the gold medal of breaking. The Ruggeds are already in Paris for the Golden Stage. With a chapter of Decypher, a creation where dance, acrobatics, music and theatre meet. Breathtaking.
