Presentation

Paperweight, toy, beloved memory, dated, hipster or kitsch, miniature world, popular art, collector’s item… the snow globe is not a mere object but a veritable phenomenon. These little plastic spheres, poetic, mystic, coveted or held in contempt, profane or consecrated, have known socially contradictory uses throughout their history making them as complex as they are exciting! On stage, historian Patrick Boucheron and director Mohamed El Khatib inspect each corner of the object while telling us a unique story. In an intimate scenography, they reveal with precision and humor everything these snow globes hide: beliefs, secrets, devotions and fantasies, all lurking under the synthetic snowflakes.
