Presentation
In their previous shows Làng Tôi and Ô Làng Phô, The New Vietnam Circus depicted the life of a village, followed by the trip from the countryside to the urban fever. This time with Teh Dar, they bring us to the heart of Vietnam, to meet people of the high plateaux.
This spectacular fresco illustrates the traditions that shape these mountain people’s cultural identity: between pagan rites and deity worship, the artists perform dazzling acrobatics over a succession of original bamboo devices. Hold your breath at the spectacle of their stunts, performed to a hypnotic rhythm of the percussions.
Teh Dar (‘going round a fire’ in the K'ho language) is also a poetic evocation of faith in the eternal cycle of life, from birth to reincarnation. Disorienting, fascinating, impressive!
