    The Nederlands Dans Theater is one of the most brilliant contemporary companies. Its essence is to carve itself a way off the beaten path in a bold and brilliant manner.

     

    The Big Crying

    The Big Crying tells the story of the ultimate separation. Black-clad sorrow is stripped bare by Marco Goecke, the NDT-associated choreographer since 2013, and bodies are dismantled at the speed of light while cries resound. Grieving his father’s death, he deploys spectacular energy for an aesthetic of despair.

     

    Bedtime Story

    Influenced by popular cultures, Israeli choreographer Nadav Zelner takes over the art of dancing with an acute feel for design and theatricality. Unexpected music marks his aestheticized and provocative works. On the edge of fantastical lands, Bedtime story intrudes into this brief moment of awakening where dreams still overlap with reality.
