Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal continues her exploration of feelings with a new creation for seven performers set to the electronica sound of the young English musician Koreless.

With Into the Hairy, Sharon Eyal continues a journey that started at the beginning of the 1990s under the leadership of the Batsheva Dance Company where she was a performer, artistic director, partner and resident choreographer. In other words, eighteen years of fruitful yet non-exclusive collaboration, as she began working with Gai Behar in 2005, with whom she co-authored a dozen of works since. Three of their most recent ones, OCD Love, Love Chapter 2 and The Brutal Journey of the Heart, explored the feeling of love’s nature, deploying a vernacular steeped in both clubbing culture and a clearly classical technique. Into the Hairy extends this movement by inviting Koreless, one of the most promising musicians of the British electronic scene. His sharp music, all at once wounded, crushed and fluid, dialogues with the movements of the seven performers part of the L-E-V company, which gets its name from the Hebrew word for “heart” but also for “psyche” An in-between space where the Eyal/Behar tandem’s pieces unfold, between emotion, sensuality and control.
