A tribute to cinema and magic, Shazam, created in 1998 is the absolute must-see. Dizzying creativity, visual beauty, elegance, and humor fit together into a malicious and timeless scenography. Bodies doubled by a triptych of one-way mirrors, fragmented in suspended screens, abracadabra, and here comes a head, an arm, an eye, Olé!
By gathering as many original performers of the play as possible, joined by others to whom it was transmitted, this revival enlivens the DCA Company and questions the role of memory in dance. Revisiting this play is the occasion to confront changes in bodies, viewpoints, and aesthetics.
Inhabited with other experiences, what other things can these bodies express in the same movements? The answers come by dancing Shazam. This spectacularly offbeat and joyous performance is open to all. Let the show start (and may it never end!)
